The high-end fashion designer who created the stunning dress worn by Dakota Johnson in two Fifty Shades of Grey films is poised to establish her first solo UK boutique in Mayfair.
According to retail sources, Monique Lhuillier, which produces and sells ready-to-wear, accessories, and wedding lines, has agreed to open a store on South Audley Street in older building in the heart of Mayfair. The inside of the building is being restored in preparation for an opening towards the end of May. “We were smitten with the space. It has a different mood, more old world, classic, and ornate than we would have preferred, but the bones are very wonderful,” Bugbee remarked. This means that the wedding and ready-to-wear dress designer, who founded her own label in 1996, is heading to London later this spring to open her first European boutique.
London has always been our target in terms of international market,” said Tom Bugbee, the brand’s CEO and Lhuillier’s spouse. That is a more direct route to Europe. The commercial practises are identical to those in the United States, and there is no language barrier. We knew it was a market for us because of our wholesale clients such as Harrods.
This luxury brand has clients included Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Blake Lively, Taylor Swift, and Michelle Obama, and the company is widely recognised for a stunning silk dress worn by protagonist character Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Darker.
Some of Monique Lhuillier’s greatest pieces include:
Monique Lhuillier wedding dresses are in great demand due to their romantic and feminine designs. The label’s fashions span from traditional ball dress to contemporary, minimalist dresses.
Celebrities often wear Monique Lhuillier’s designs at important events such as the Oscars and Golden Globes. Dresses from the name are recognised for their elaborate detailing, such as delicate lace and embroidery.
Monique Lhuillier also sells a variety of accessories, such as shoes, purses, and jewellery. These items often have the same exquisite detailing as the label’s dresses.
Although Monique Lhuillier is best known for her wedding and red-carpet dresses, the designer now sells ready-to-wear items. These designs are often influenced by the label’s characteristic romantic look.
Monique Lhuillier is noted for its fine quality, attention to detail, and timeless designs.
The firm is said to occupy roughly 2150 square feet in London, in addition to its three locations in the United States.
With this new addition, the brand will have stores worldwide, including the United Kingdom, and the most recent arrivals on the company’s website include a £6700 flowery strapless sequin party dress.
The agreement comes on the heels of 21 major fashion and footwear firms launching their first London outlets in 2022. Several participants anticipate that luxury spending will stay stable this year.
