Select Collection was launched by Leija Graf in 1992 with the original name of Select Travel. Graf wanted to bring the personal touch back to travel agents, commenting: “I decided to open in London because I could see an unfortunate trend among UK luxury operators to distance themselves from their clients physically. The core of bespoke travel is to offer face to face consultation in a centrally located boutique by expert consultants. I wanted to bring back couture service to the central of London and to be the only luxury operator with a street-level boutique in Mayfair.”
