Hollywood comes to Mayfair for the London Critics Circle Film Awards

Some of the biggest and brightest stars in the film industry were out in force in Mayfair. For the 33rd London Critics Circle Film Awards last night. The celebrity studded bash was held at The May Fair Hotel. An exclusive venue located in the centre of Stratton Street.

Lifetime Achievement Award.

Helena Bonham Carter was at the centre of everyone’s attention after winning a Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony. In line with her usual quirky sense of humour, Helena commented, “It feels like a rash. It suddenly seems like I’ve got a contagion of disease. I mean awards! But it’s nice, it’s a nice feeling.” “It’s so weird, because I’m only 46. A lifetime achievement award, it feels like ‘I’m not over yet’. I hope they’re not trying to say it’s time to stop. I’m only just getting the gist of it.”

Other stars in attendance.

Modest Helena may have won the biggest prize of the evening. Other stars in attendance included Emily Blunt, Toby Jones, and Les Miserables star Samantha Barks. French film Amour scooped the gong for Film of the Year. Whilst Ang Lee won Director of the Year for Life of Pi and Actor of the Year went to Joaquin Phoenix for The Master.

A full list of all of the night’s winners can be seen on the Critics Circle website.
