Flemings launch campaign to put Mayfair back on the Monopoly board

The district of Mayfair sat in its prestigious end-of-the-circuit spot on the Monopoly board until 2011, when it was removed in favour of Kensington Palace Gardens. However, the residents of Mayfair – led by Flemings Hotel on Half Moon Street. Have decided to appeal the design and fight to put Mayfair back in its rightful place.

Signatures of solidarity from Mayfair.

The campaign, which launched on the 15th April, has seen the addition of a giant Monopoly boot in front of the famous hotel. As well as an e-petition to encourage signatures of solidarity from Mayfair aficionados amongst the general public. On the day of the launch, four characters dressed as Rich Uncle Pennybags. They took directly to the streets of Mayfair to drum up some additional support. All with the determined intention of bringing Mayfair back to the board.

Mayfair is synonymous with style.

Campaign chairman Colin Exton explained: “Mayfair is synonymous with style, and has been the luxury heart of London for centuries. All over the world people know the exclusivity of Mayfair from its position on the Monopoly board, even if they have never visited London. It is this heritage that has driven us to right this wrong and get Mayfair back in the game.”
