Dine like a Victorian in Mayfair

Mayfair is an area that is already known for its restaurants. From popular celebrity haunts like Nobu to exciting dining experiences like Galvin at Windows. There is plenty on offer to please all palates. However, Brown’s Hotel on Albermarle Street has added an interesting new option into the mix. With a Victorian-themed menu at its HIX Mayfair restaurant, in honour of the hotel’s 175th anniversary.

A range of traditional dishes.

The menu, devised by Mark Hix in recognition of the hotel’s opening in 1837. Featuring a range of traditional dishes, such as rabbit and wallfish pie, and Dorset Crab. Scallop bake with cold water willies (bread made with white flour, salt, and cold water, in case you were wondering). The menu will change throughout the year to accommodate seasonal produce. They will still feature the Victorian classics that Hix spent hours scouring through historical cookbooks to the source.
