Summer art exhibitions in Mayfair

Mayfair is known for being an area of culture and sophistication, so as you might expect. There are plenty of fantastic art galleries in the district. Eduardo Chillida – Christie’s, New Bond Street.

Eduardo has been described as the Spanish Henry Moore. His collection of intriguing sculptures, Homage to Chillida, was first shown in the Guggenheim in 2006. He is finally coming to prestigious gallery and auctioneers Christie’s on New Bond Street. If you’re a fan of modern sculpture, this is the exhibition for you.

Gerhard Richter – Gagosian Gallery, Davies Street.

Gerhard Richter has crafted an impressive collection of art which spans almost five decades. His work, which in this instance is a series of tapestries. Which is characterised by a blurred technique designed to capture a feeling of nostalgia. This captivating collection will be on show at the Gagosian Gallery on Davies Street, until 27th July.

Francis Bacon – Faggionato, Albermarle Street.

Irish-born Francis Bacon, one of the most renowned artists of WWII. He is famous for his graphic, raw imagery and powerful artistic statements. For the chance to see his incredibly moving artwork, head for Faggionato on Albermarle Street. The arrangement of their summer exhibition will ensure you’ll remember these vivid images for many years to come.
