David Aaron

Antiquities and natural history specialists

Description

David Aaron is one of the world’s oldest and most respected antiquities galleries dealing in Classical Greek and Roman, Egyptian, Near Eastern, and Islamic art, as well as important items of natural history, such as dinosaur fossils.

David Aaron has established a reputation for a strict ethical code – extensively researching the provenance of antiquities and regularly unearthing new discoveries and histories of artworks.

In recent years, the gallery began exhibiting great American dinosaur fossils of the highest level of provenance, condition and quality. David Aaron has sold fossils, including a complete Juvenile Tyrannosaurus Rex called Chomper, a 68-million-year-old Triceratops Skull and in 2025 a Nanosaurus, which led to the discovery of a new species called the Enigmacursor from the Late Jurassic period, which is now in the Natural History Museum collection.

Over the past century, the gallery has played an instrumental role in helping major museums to form, acquire and research important antiquities. Notable sales have been made to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, J. Paul Getty Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi, The Aga Khan Museum, David Collection of Islamic Art, Miho Museum, Glyptothek Munich, Yorkshire Museum, and Corning Museum.

The gallery exhibits at highly vetted international art fairs, including Frieze Masters, TEFAF Maastricht and TEFAF New York.

The gallery is a fourth-generation family business that was established in 1910 and today operates under the leadership of David Aaron, with over 60 years of market experience, knowledge and trusted relationships, and his three sons. Located in one of the most prestigious and historic corners of London, David Aaron’s Mayfair gallery occupies an exceptional space at 25A Berkeley Square
