Christmas Day Lunch in Mayfair 2026, the Menus and Prices

7 November 2026By Georgina Ashdown9 min read
Ready

Christmas Day lunch in Mayfair costs £165 to £550 a head in 2026, before a 15% service charge, on the menus the hotels have published themselves. The lowest figure is May Fair Kitchen at The May Fair Hotel on Stratton Street, with 5 courses on Friday 25 December. The highest is Claridge's on Brook Street, at £550 for adults and £275 for children.

Between the two sit 4 more kitchens with 2026 prices online: Jean-Georges at The Connaught at £290, The Connaught Grill at £300, Hélène Darroze at The Connaught at £475 and Dante Mayfair at Claridge's at £500. We read every one of those menus on the venues' own sites on 30 October 2026.

The evening column deserves a look. At 3 of those 6 kitchens, Christmas Day dinner costs £135 to £225 a head less than lunch on the same day, in the same building. The figures below are the published ones, with the service charge worked out, and the hotels that have not yet priced their day are named too.

How much Christmas Day lunch costs in Mayfair in 2026

A Christmas Day lunch in Mayfair costs £165 a head at May Fair Kitchen, £290 at Jean-Georges, £300 at The Connaught Grill, £475 at Hélène Darroze, £500 at Dante Mayfair and £550 at Claridge's. Every menu adds a discretionary 15% service charge, so the real range runs £189.75 to £632.50.

That service line matters more on this day than any other. On a £550 menu it adds £82.50 per person. No wine has been poured yet. A table of 4 adults at Claridge's comes to £2,530 with service; the same 4 at May Fair Kitchen pay £759. Children's prices narrow the gap only slightly, at £275 for lunch at Claridge's against £70 at May Fair Kitchen.

What is included also differs. Claridge's opens its lunch with a glass of Billecart-Salmon Le Réserve, and Dante's menu starts with a Christmas cocktail. The Connaught's 2026 brochure lists no glass on its Christmas Day pages, and May Fair Kitchen's only Champagne is a Moët Brut jelly served as a palate cleanser. None of the 6 menus lists wine with the meal.

All 6 kitchens are in Mayfair, W1, in the City of Westminster, and each sells set Christmas Day menus, not dishes priced one by one.

The 2026 Christmas Day menus room by room

Each entry below comes from the venue's own 2026 menu, read on 30 October.

  • May Fair Kitchen, The May Fair Hotel, Stratton Street, W1J 8LT. 5 courses at £165 per guest, children £70 for 3 courses. Served 12.30pm to 4pm and 6pm to 10pm, one price for both. Aged beef Wellington, cod with a Parmesan crust or a Portobello mushroom en croûte, then a Madagascar vanilla yule log. Bookings on 020 7769 3066.
  • Jean-Georges at The Connaught, Carlos Place, W1K 2AL. 4 courses at £290, the same at lunch and dinner. Roast bronze turkey or pancetta-wrapped venison loin; a 3-course children's menu at £78. Bookings on 020 7107 8861.
  • The Connaught Grill. 3 courses at £300, lunch and dinner. Norfolk turkey crown or Cornish turbot with black truffle mousse, crêpes Suzette to finish; the same £78 children's menu. Bookings on 020 7107 8852.
  • Hélène Darroze at The Connaught. 6 courses at lunch for £475, including Isle of Mull lobster and a capon from Les Landes with Périgord truffle. 5 courses at dinner for £340. Bookings on 020 3147 7200.
  • Dante Mayfair at Claridge's, Brook Street, W1K 4HR. Lunch £500, children £250, with a caviar tartlet, a Christmas cocktail and desserts for the table. Dinner £300, children £125. Roasted Hereford rib of beef with Yorkshire pudding, and lobster mac and cheese on the table at both.
  • Claridge's, The Foyer and Reading Room. Lunch £550, children £275, also served in the French Salon and Drawing Room. Beef Wellington with black truffle jus or roasted Norfolk turkey, then Claridge's Christmas pudding and a Truffle Baron Bigod to share. Dinner £325, children £150. The hotel's line is 020 7629 8860.

The Connaught's restaurant details come from its 2026 Christmas menus brochure; the hotel itself is in our Connaught listing.

Christmas Day dinner can cost less than lunch

Christmas Day lunch is the traditional sitting. It is also the expensive one, by a margin that changes the arithmetic for any family able to eat later.

At Claridge's, lunch is £550 and dinner is £325, a gap of £225. The lunch adds canapés with Oscietra caviar, a lobster tart and a truffled Baron Bigod to share; dinner keeps the turkey, the pudding and the opening glass of Billecart-Salmon. With service, dinner saves £258.75 per adult against lunch.

Dante follows the same pattern, at £500 against £300. Its lunch carries the cocktail, the caviar tartlet and an extra course, while dinner still serves the rib of beef and the Christmas pudding. Hélène Darroze charges £475 for 6 courses at lunch and £340 for 5 at dinner, and the evening menu swaps the lobster and capon for Welsh pheasant.

Two other Connaught kitchens do the opposite. Jean-Georges and The Connaught Grill print a single price for lunch and dinner, and May Fair Kitchen serves one menu at one price across both sittings. Anyone comparing Christmas Day dinner London prices should read the evening column first, because in Mayfair that is where the lower figures sit.

At Claridge's, Dante and Hélène Darroze, Christmas Day dinner costs £135 to £225 less than lunch on the same day.

Booking site prices that do not match the hotels

Round-ups and booking platforms answer many searches for Christmas Day lunch London, and some of their Mayfair figures do not match what the hotels publish.

DesignMyNight's page of Christmas dinners in Mayfair, updated on 23 October 2026, quotes £300 for a seven-course Christmas lunch at The Beaumont's Colony Grill Room. The Beaumont's own Christmas page, read on 30 October, describes a four-course Christmas Day lunch and gives no price at all.

The booking site's course count and The Beaumont's cannot both be current, and the hotel's page is the one to trust until it publishes a figure. The same round-up shows May Fair Kitchen only with a festive set menu from £39; the hotel's own page sells that as a 2 or 3-course festive set lunch, not the Christmas Day menu.

Old menus also linger. May Fair Kitchen's own Christmas Day PDF for 2022 printed 5 courses at £125 per guest. The 2026 price is £165, 32% higher 4 years on, so any guide still quoting the earlier figure understates the bill by £40 a head before service.

Several Mayfair hotels have not been priced here. The Chesterfield's festive page mentions a Christmas Day Feast with a last sitting at 7pm but publishes no price. The Dorchester, 45 Park Lane, the Four Seasons on Park Lane and Brown's all block automated reading of their festive pages, so their 2026 figures need a phone call.

How booking and payment work for Christmas Day lunch

For Christmas Day lunch at The Connaught, the hotel takes full prepayment for Jean-Georges and The Connaught Grill on 8 December, non-refundable from that date, and Hélène Darroze takes the whole menu price at booking. All 6 menus add a 15% discretionary service charge. Claridge's, Dante and May Fair Kitchen print no deposit rule.

Every one of these terms is printed on the venues' own Christmas menus. Read them before booking, not after.

The Connaught also asks for credit card details when Jean-Georges or the Grill is booked, and states a 48-hour cancellation policy. Read together, those terms suggest a table can be cancelled on 48 hours' notice before 8 December but not refunded after it, so confirm that when booking. Hélène Darroze allows no such window. Its brochure page says the prepayment taken at reservation is non-refundable afterwards.

Claridge's publishes its menus and its booking links for 25 December on the hotel's festive page. Neither the Claridge's nor the Dante PDF states a deposit or a cancellation rule. Ask for both in writing before giving a card. May Fair Kitchen takes bookings through SevenRooms or by phone, and its PDF adds only that prices include VAT, so the same question applies there.

Getting to a Mayfair Christmas Day lunch without the Tube

Expect no trains.

In 2025 Transport for London ran no Tube, bus or Overground services on Christmas Day, according to Londonist's and Time Out's guides to that year's timetable. TfL had not published its 2026 Christmas plans when we checked on 30 October.

So the route is a taxi, a private hire car or a walk. Claridge's on Brook Street and The Connaught on Carlos Place share the W1K postcode. The May Fair Hotel is on Stratton Street, W1J, just off Piccadilly at the Green Park end of the West End. In 2025 the Congestion Charge was suspended from 25 December, which helps anyone driving in.

Book the car home when booking the table. For the rest of the season in this corner of the City of Westminster, our Christmas in Mayfair page covers the lights and the hotels.

Christmas Day lunch in Mayfair this year is a choice of hour as much as of room. For the traditional lunch at the lowest published price, May Fair Kitchen charges £165, or £189.75 with service. For The Connaught without the 3 Michelin-star tasting menu, Jean-Georges charges £290 at either sitting.

For Claridge's or Dante, an evening table saves £200 to £225 a head on the same turkey and pudding. Whichever room it is, read the prepayment line first. The Connaught takes the full amount on 8 December and keeps it. And if TfL repeats 2025, there will be no Tube home.
