The Albemarle Gallery enjoys a well-deserved reputation for its excellent collection of contemporary painting and sculpture. It prides itself on introducing some of the most exciting work around from both UK and international artists and works with both emerging and established talent.
This Mayfair art gallery is particularly renowned for its figurative and hyper-realised exhibitions as well as its visually stunning sculpture installations. This is largely because it represents artists who produce unique work that transcends and challenges the current aesthetic: if you want to view or purchase leading-edge work, then the Albemarle Gallery is the place in which to do it.
From its base in exclusive Mayfair, the Albemarle Gallery showcases work that goes on to hang in public, corporate and private collections. This currently includes the work of Kim Yeon, whose sculptures elicit feelings of meditation and contemplation, representing streams and rivers in rock, pebble and resin. The sculptures have a wonderful 3-D quality that is most appealing.
Kim, who lives and works in South Korea, enjoyed a successful exhibition at the Albemarle Gallery last year and is exhibiting again at the moment. Her current exhibition includes some dazzling stainless steel sculptures from her celebrated Voyage to the Light series, as well as colourful pieces from her Autumn Leaves collection.
