Frieze Week in Mayfair and the Gallery Openings to See

Frieze Week runs from 14 to 18 October 2026 in The Regent’s Park, with the public admitted from Thursday 15 October, but much of the week’s new art is on the walls of Mayfair, W1, where no ticket is needed. The weekly listing published on 12 October by the newsletter In the Gallery counts 21 Mayfair galleries opening new exhibitions between 9 and 15 October, and most of the shows run into November or December.

That matters for anyone who is not going to the fair. Frieze London has 172 galleries from 42 countries and regions, Artlyst reports, and a ticketed entrance. The Mayfair shows are in commercial galleries, which do not charge admission, and they will still be hanging after the fair closes.

Dover Street Has Three Shows in Three Doors

The densest stretch is the top of Dover Street. Thaddaeus Ropac at Ely House, 37 Dover Street, shows Georg Baselitz, The Heroes 1965-66, from 13 October to 18 December. Next door at number 39, Gazelli Art House has Allen Jones, In Town Tonight, from 12 October to 18 December. At number 41, Richard Saltoun Gallery shows Reena Saini Kallat, Elsewhere is Already Here, from 13 October to 19 December. Three consecutive odd numbers make one stop.

Cork Street and Savile Row

On Cork Street, Nahmad Projects opens Anna Freeman Bentley, The Studio, from 14 October to 11 December, and Flowers at number 21 shows William Crozier, Dance of the Living 1961-1974, from 14 October to 14 November. The street has been doing this for a century. The Mayor Gallery at 22a was the first to open here, founded by Fred Mayor in 1925, and Waddington Custot at 11-12 dates from 1958.

One street east, Hauser & Wirth at 23 Savile Row has two exhibitions from 13 October to 23 December: Lorna Simpson, Previous & Ongoing, and a Cindy Sherman solo show. At 2 Savile Row, Pilar Corrias shows Rirkrit Tiravanija until 14 November and Luxembourg + Co. shows Mira Schendel, In Transit, until 12 December.

Bond Street and Davies Street

Opera Gallery at 65-66 New Bond Street has Fernando Botero, In Praise of an Amplified World, from 12 October, alongside Niovi Kafantari until 8 November. The gallery’s own page gives 12 November as the last day of the Botero show and other listings say 22 November, so go before the 12th to be safe. Our directory record adds a detail the listings do not: Opera opens on Sundays, from midday to 5pm, which makes it one of the few Mayfair galleries to plan around on Sunday 18 October.

Gagosian shows Cady Noland at its Davies Street space, 17-19 Davies Street, from 12 October to 19 December. That is the smaller of the gallery’s two Mayfair addresses. The larger one, in our directory as Gagosian Gallery, is at 20 Grosvenor Hill. Pace has Kylie Manning, The Mudlarkers, from 13 October to 14 November.

Two Fairs Inside Mayfair

Two of the week’s fairs are in the district itself. PAD London is in Berkeley Square from 13 to 18 October. London Invitational runs from 15 to 18 October at The Chancery Rosewood on Grosvenor Square, the hotel that opened in September 2025 in the former US Embassy, and Artlyst notes that the Thursday is reserved for invited guests.

How to Plan the Walk

Start on Dover Street, which Green Park station serves, cross Old Bond Street to Cork Street and Savile Row, then go north along New Bond Street to Davies Street, where Bond Street station is the way home. All of it is inside Mayfair, in the City of Westminster. Opening receptions were listed for 12, 13 and 15 October, some by RSVP. The dates given here are the public runs. Thaddaeus Ropac and Hauser & Wirth both open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm, so Sunday and Monday are the wrong days for those two. Check the others before setting out.
