SoftOrbits launches an online version of its Photo Retoucher
SoftOrbits is a photo editing software development company founded in 2006 by Eugene Ustinenkov. Starting as a small startup that focused on creating single-feature utilities, SoftOrbits grew into a well-recognised software provider with over a million yearly downloads and 300,000 users.
Recently, SoftOrbits launched web versions of 10 of its most popular utilities, including its highly successful Photo Retoucher tool, further increasing its accessibility and providing users with a more convenient way to use it.
Enabling users to retouch their photos from anywhere without any hardware requirements is certainly a game-changer, and we already see how this new option has increased our total user base and enabled us to expand our reach. We have a lot more amateur photographers interacting with the tool now since it became so much more accessible, and we want to follow this example with other utilities in the future,” says Eugene Ustinenkov, CEO of SoftOrbits and AlarmFront.
As Ustinenkov explains, the success of the online version of Photo Retoucher has convinced the team that they are heading in the right direction with their recent decisions. The first of these decisions is switching to the SaaS distribution model to match the market demands and increase user convenience.
“We’ve been considering going SaaS for a while, but it always felt like the result of this whole process might not be worth the commitment. Now we are convinced that this is the future for SoftOrbits and are sticking with this decision. We don’t plan to discontinue our downloadable utilities, since a lot of our users rely on them and there is no reason to change that. However, our goal is to move towards our new direction,” says Eugene Ustinenkov, CEO of SoftOrbits, Candidate of Technical Sciences.
Another huge change in the team’s approach is all about introducing new AI features to existing utilities and providing online access to these functionalities.
“Right now, AI is unparalleled when it comes to increasing convenience and accessibility. Prompt-based editing is superior to anything that our industry has ever been able to offer before, so we will double down on this feature and make sure that it is consistent and reliable. While the technology is constantly evolving, this part stays the same, and we are convinced that achieving success with it is inevitable,” says Eugene Ustinenkov, CEO of SoftOrbits with more than 10 years of software development expertise.
With positive feedback coming from users who appreciate the versatility provided by the new tools, SoftOrbits is making the first steps towards its new era.
“We are all excited about the changes that we are working on, and while it is a bit too early to fully unveil all of our plans, we recommend staying tuned with our updates, as there is a lot that we will share in the upcoming months,“ says Hannes Jansen, writer and editor at SoftOrbits.
