The Mayor Gallery

Since 1925

Description

Mayfair’s Mayor Gallery exhibits modern art. Fred Mayor founded it in 1925. The gallery has long promoted current art and helped establish modern art in Britain.

Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst, Marcel Duchamp, and Francis Bacon have all shown at the gallery. The Mayor Gallery is notable for finding and promoting new artists and avant-garde and experimental art.

The two-story gallery exhibits contemporary art solo and group shows. The gallery also publishes books and catalogues about its artists.

The Mayor Gallery is on Cork Street, a prominent art gallery district. Many tube stations and bus stops serve the gallery.
