Suitcases fit for a queen

If you’ve already booked your break to exotic shores for summer 2014, then prepare to travel in style with the opening of a new, luxury suitcases and luggage boutique in Mayfair.

Great British holiday.

The Queen’s luggage maker, British brand Globe-Trotter, will be opening a new boutique at 35 Albemarle Street next year, relocating from their current, rather small premises in Burlington Arcade. The new store will be double the size of their existing shop and will feature a VIP area for wealthy customers looking to design bespoke items.

Traditional manufacturing.

Globe-Trotter’s luggage is made using vulcanized fibre, which is a paper-based material first used in the UK in 1859, and the brand has also expanded to create leather goods. Expect queues a-plenty and celebrity spotting during the opening week, as Daniel Craig, Dita Von Teese and Kate Moss are all fans of this luxury travel brand.

Gallic luxury.

Luxury luggage brands seem to be popping up all over Mayfair this year, as Moynat, a renowned French company, will be opening a new store on Mount Street in the run-up to Christmas, and Goyard already has a boutique on Mount Street in Mayfair.

It looks like Mayfair is the place to be if you’re looking for luggage fit for royalty!
