For an authentic taste of old Mumbai this winter, come to Mayfair’s Chor Bizarre. Running until 10th December. The Old Bombay food Street Festival will serve traditional dishes inspired by the ‘thieves market’ of old Mumbai with an added contemporary twist. These dishes will be available to sample in a fine dining setting. With the explosion in popularity of street food and regional Indian specialities in London, now is the perfect time to try something new.
Chor Bizarre has captured the spirit of Mumbai’s ‘Thieves Market’ perfectly with opulent décor and furnishings from Indian bazaars. A decadent Aladdin’s Cave that’s warm, inviting and just a little bit mysterious. Step inside and chat with chefs and food historians to discover the dishes history, methods of preparation and recipes.
Adventurous types will love the range of spicy dishes on offer; perfect for the cold, dark winter days, they’ll warm you up with a spicy boost. The menu will include delicacies such as ‘Keema Ghotala’, minced lamb with green chillies and egg, ‘Bombay Bhel’, golden puffs of rice with fresh mango, sweet red onions and tangy chutney and ‘Phirni’. A luxuriously creamy rice pudding with silver leaf and saffron, cooked in a clay pot.
