Bag a burger in Mayfair

Burgers are the current foodie fad. From the newly opened Shake Shack and Five Guys outlets in Covent Garden to the cult status of Meat Liquor on Oxford Street, queues have never been longer for meat, buns and salty fries. Here are Mayfair’s top burger joints.

Burger and Lobster

This Clarges Street establishment is fabulously trendy, and you may find yourself waiting a little while for your supper, as they don’t take bookings. However, with a choice of juicy cheese and bacon layered patty or succulent, garlic butter laden lobster stuffed into brioche buns, with chips and salad on the side, it’ll be worth the wait.

Maze Grill

Maze Grill may be known for its steak, but it also does a pretty tasty burger too. From the cheeseburger smothered in tart Monterey Jack to the cute and quirky mini sliders, there’s something to suit every taste.

Automat

Automat is an American style brasserie with a varied, delicious menu. Tucked away on Dover Street in the heart of Mayfair, it offers a selection of burgers, including chicken and veggie options, alongside classic US favourites like macaroni and cheese and prime New York steak. Order one of their decadent milkshakes on the side and immerse yourself in an authentic diner experience.
